Fall 2004/2005 Newsletter

We have heard so much about finding the Heart & Soul this past year...

Heart & Soul of the Country,
Heart & Soul of the People,
Heart & Soul of the Arts,
Heart & Soul of Self,
& Ah...
Heart & Soul of the Kaleidoscope!
- now that’s where I would look for Heart & Soul.
This year has definitely been the year of the Kaleidoscope!

The Kaleidoscope is a true reflection Heart & Soul as it connects us with country, people, arts & self. The mirrors of the Kaleidoscope are the Heart & Soul of the Kaleidoscope & reveal the hidden beauty & symmetry of the unfolding images. The images can be thought of as the world with diversity in its pieces, yet unified when viewed in their totality. The viewer's involvement with the changing image gives a sense of being able to change their view & better relate to the world. It puts things in a positive light.

The image can also be thought of as Life as we would like it to be - filled with unexpected change, natural beauty, and harmony. Sometimes the images appear to be people joining hands in unity. Again a very positive notion.

Many kaleidoscope artists pour their own Heart & Soul into their Kaleidoscopes & there seems to be some exchange of ‘soul’ which can often be felt by the viewer. As an art form the Kaleidoscope is unique. It is one of the few that allows the viewer to create the beauty, & it is pure delight to see the designs reappear in constant renewal. It is a reminder of ever changing beauty & can influence our way of thinking, feeling and reacting to the world. With it’s reflection of light & color, it is an avenue to the Heart & Soul.

*WOW*
