“Beauty”
Happily may I walk.
May it be beautiful before me.
May it be beautiful behind me.
May it be beautiful below me.
May it be beautiful above me.
May it be beautiful all around me.
In beauty it is finished.
~Navajo Prayer~

“Beauty - absolute, separate, simple & everlasting”
~Plato~

“The Kaleidoscope -
Beautiful forms to see."
~Brewster~

Beauty is ‘Timeless’
The kaleidoscope is ‘timeless’ - a simple tube, when held to the light, can create absolute beauty. Bits and pieces tumble around before your very eyes, and now the beauty is in the eyes of the holder. The kaleidoscope can be calming or exciting. With just a turn, the colors create perfect shapes that calm the mind, soothe the soul and fill the heart with joy. Excitingly, you create your own beauty with an awareness that in an instant, the beauty will change and a newness will emerge again and again.

Change is Exciting!
Like the kaleidoscope, La Casita continues to change too. Poco-a-Poco - little by little. For the past 6 years, La Casita has continued to grow, little by little, and we grew right out of our wee Casita. So in September we moved to the quaint Poco-a-Poco Patio, where we now have space to show & grow. We fell in love with the Poco-a-Poco Patio area years ago and were delighted when the opportunity to move there opened up. The Poco-a-Poco (little by little) Patio was the home of the Nick Garcia Family and was named such because it was built by Nick Sr., little by little. This was so meaningful for La Casita de Kaleidoscopes, as we have grown little by little over the years. Poco-a-Poco, we have grown into one of the “funist” Places in Albuquerque. Poco-a-Poco, we have made friends from all over the world. And like the kaleidoscope, we continue to change, poco-a-poco.
Our new address is: 326-D San Felipe NW Albq, NM 87104

La Casita de Kaleidoscopes
Change is good - however some things will never change. Our quaint setting in the Poco-a-Poco Patio continues to represent the kaleidoscope's peaceful feel, it’s beautiful kaleidoscopes by over 60 great artists, and the FUN we have sharing them with all of you.

We continue to receive new Kaleidoscopes weekly. Our artists continue to go above and beyond the limits in their creativity and skill. From the new ‘Celebration’ fountain by Will Smith that all can enjoy and celebrate each occasion, to a petite Bolo Tie Kaleidoscope by The Healy’s to wear anywhere. Also, we now have Margarita Glass Kaleidoscopes by Phil Coghill that make any event fun. The new Kaleidobowl by the Gatewoods will go with you to any event. Fill it with flowers, fish or food for any occasion and then enjoy sharing the fun.

Many of our artists have chosen to create works that simply make you smile. Others have continued to express the desire for Peace & Harmony in the world through their work. Our goal at La Casita is to spread that feeling to as many people as we can so there can be a more peaceful world. Help share the peace and harmony by taking time to peek into your scope daily. And if you know someone who is scopeless, let us know and we will be happy to help them see the light!

La Casita continues to focus on the soulful beauty of the kaleidoscope However, with our new setting came space for doing some additional fun things. The cozy atmosphere in the gallery area will be home to Steve Asay’s oil paintings and inks, and an area for our special events. Steve’s paintings are a reflection of his and his wife Scottie's travels throughout the world. Steve grew up in Peralta, and recently returned with Scottie and dog Moses. His talents are newly refreshing yet endless, and his paintings and Scottie's enthusiasm bring a heartwarming sense of beauty to La Casita.

As many of you may know, this past year has taken Jim & I up to the NW - and yes, we’re Cougs! You also may be aware that I could not have done this without the commitment of one Beautiful Lady - Lesley (& new puppy Poquita). With Lesley’s dedication and the help of family & friends, faxes & phones, everyone can continue to enjoy their experience at La Casita. Several other new faces have been on the scene at La Casita recently too. You may see Steve & Scottie more and more, and Lynn joined us in the summer.

As we move through the Holidays and into the New Year, we are planning more fun events for you to enjoy. Please be sure to join us for our annual "Kaleidoscopenhouse" on Dec 7th. Also in the New Year watch for:
Artist Open House, featuring Steve Asay
Kids Kaleidoscope Workshops
Our "Closer Look" Evenings

"Timeless in New Mexico"
Our SW hours continue to be Monday thru Saturday, tenish to fiveish and Sundays, oneish to fiveish. We would love to hear from you, and better yet see you, so keep in touch and…
May your Life be like a Kaleidoscope, ever-changing, always beautiful!

With colorful spirit
Jim & Pat
Lesley & Lynn
Steve & Scottie
Muffin Gizzie Moses & Poquita
